| I have been told I have a unique empathy with animals, and I have to say I do believe I have noticed this in my work with dogs and horses. You talk to a horse with body language and how you face them, horses are inherently curious animals and if you stand close to them, but ignore them, they cannot resist coming to see you. Dogs on the other hand tend to be entertainers, they want show off and they want be praised. To get a good image of an animal you need to be as close to eyelevel as possible - this usually means when I am photographing dogs I am laid on the ground. Patience is critical and getting the perfect picture takes time. However shooting digital gives you the edge in capturing multiple images to work with. Having digital images also lends itself to creating everything from prints to t-shirts. |
